The Columbia Public Schools Board of Education calls a special session for an update on a return to some in-person learning.
A district spokesperson said on Wednesday that meeting will happen Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 4:30 p.m.
Almost all CPS students have started the year learning completely online. But officials have been talking about a phased return to in-person learning. A district spokesperson says they are “extremely encouraged” by the lower coronavirus numbers in Columbia lately.
The latest plan discussed during a board work session on Sept. 24 has mostly elementary students going back first, two days a week. The board officially votes on the in-person learning plan at its regular meeting on Oct. 12.
