CPS: Look out for Columbia students and school buses today

About 9,500 students in mid-Missouri’s largest school district will be riding buses today, for the first day of school.

Columbia Public Schools (CPS) spokeswoman Michelle Baumstark is urging you to be cognizant of increased traffic, school zones and bus stops, starting today. It’s the first day of school for CPS students in grades 1 through 12.

Baumstark emphasizes that drivers must stop when the school bus arm is out.
