Cunningham tests positive for COVID-19

Sophie Cunningham has recovered from a bout with COVID-19 and is preparing for her second season in the WNBA.

Cunningham was late getting to the league’s “bubble” at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida because she needed to get clearance to re-join her Phoenix Mercury teammates.

The first game for the Mercury is July 25 against the Sparks. Mizzou women’s basketball’s all-time leading scorer and Rock Bridge High School state champion averaged 3.1 points a game as a WNBA rookie.
