A Boone County judge has scheduled a December 17 sentencing date for Columbia’s Joseph Elledge, who’s been convicted of second degree murder for the death of his wife.
A jury deliberated for seven hours on Thursday, before convicting Elledge for killing his wife, Menggi Ji. A jury is recommending a 28-year prison sentence.
Boone County Circuit Judge Brouck Jacobs will sentence Elledge, after a sentencing assessment report (SAR) is completed by Missouri’s Probation and Parole Board.
Boone County Prosecutor Dan Knight has said that Elledge deserves no mercy, while defense attorneys have described Ji’s death as a tragic accident.
