Robin Pingeton’s Tigers come into the game 11-4, after Sunday’s 90-51 win over Jackson State. Grain Valley product Grace Slaughter is Mizzou’s leading scorer, averaging 15 points a game. Guard Ashton Judd (West Plains) averages 11 points a game. The Tigers lead the conference with a 39 percent three-point percentage.

The Gamecocks are 12-1 and it’s also their SEC opener. South Carolina coach Dawn Staley has won three national championships at Carolina. The Gamecocks are led by All-America guard Te-Hina Paopao, who averages 11 and shoots well from the outside too. Carolina also has a strong bench: more than 51 percent of their scoring comes from the bench.

Carolina is 77-3 in its last 80 SEC regular-season games.

You can hear tonight’s game on Zimmer sister stations KTGR (FM 105.1 and 100.5 and AM 1580) with Brad Tregnago and Kathy Wiesen. Coach Pingeton is in her 15th season.
