Demolition of Columbia’s I-70 Providence road overpass starts Friday evening

Columbia’s I-70 Providence road overpass will be demolished and removed this weekend, starting Friday night.

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) says demolition will start at 9 pm Friday and that the demolition/removal should be done by Sunday at 9 am.

MoDOT says the I-70 Providence road pedestrian bridge will also be removed.

If you’re driving on I-70 near Providence this weekend, it will narrow to one lane and you’ll be directed up and over the ramps at Providence and back onto I-70.
