House Elementary and Secondary Education Committee Chair Rep. Chuck Basye (R-Rocheport) has called a 2 pm hearing, to take testimony from state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) assistant commissioner Dr. Pam Thomas.
GOP Governor Mike Parson signed an executive order in January creating the office, which consolidated several early childhood programs across state government into one office. The issue has been bipartisan.
