DHSS: State made call on classification for latest Boone County COVID-19 death

Missouri’s health director, Dr. Randall Williams, gave more information on Boone County’s second COVID-19 death Thursday.

He said state epidemiologists told county officials to include the disease as the cause of death. County officials had said the person was hospitalized for something other than COVID-19.

Boone County confirmed eight new coronavirus cases Friday, with 40 now active.

Cole and Callaway counties did not report new cases Friday. Callaway remains at eight active cases, while Cole is down to one.

There are now 799 confirmed COVID-19 deaths statewide, after 10 more were added Thursday. Another 196 people tested positive for coronavirus, for a total of 14,253.

  1. This is the reason why people have conspiracy theory about the COVID19 number being all made up. Good example is the Part of the info release about George Floyd confirm he had COVID19. So did they include him in the death count? Nobody knows, but you can bet there is a good chance it was.
How do we know the second victim in Boone County wasn’t some 90 year old already on death bed due to age related illness? Or someone that was in a car accident and would have likely died anyways? We don’t know because a Hospital get extra Federal $$$$ if they are caring for a COIVID19 patient.
