Downtown Columbia bars face health order compliance concerns

A couple downtown Columbia bars are updating their operational plans after health department officials spotted some issues following coronavirus orders last weekend.

A health department official reported on Sept. 25 that Shot Bar apparently needs to tweak its bar seating to allow for better social distancing. Another official reported Silverball had three groups of more than ten people gathered on Sept. 25. They were not shut down because of the issues.

Room 38 was shut down a couple weeks ago for similar problems. That downtown bar updated its operational plan, and was cleared to re-open on Sept. 23.

  2. It’s not fear, Dan Benthall, it’s a virus we’re trying to stop.
