A Columbia mayoral candidate has organized a prayer walk for Sunday afternoon, to pray the youth, the community, downtown and the world.
Tanya Heath tells 939 the Eagle that many students are having mental health struggles and also notes the recent death of 15-year-old Aubrey Doxley in a McKee street homicide.
She says residents across the city want the same thing: a better Columbia. Ms. Health says Columbia has a 22 percent poverty rate, adding that the city has more than 60 faith organizations that can be a bridge of hope and solutions.
Sunday’s walk begins at 2 in front of city hall.
