(AP) – A Japanese fire official says nearly 30 people are confirmed or presumed dead in a suspected arson at an animation production studio in Kyoto.
A fire department official says firefighters found more than a dozen people presumed dead on the top floor of a three-story building, some collapsed on the stairs to the roof.
Twenty people are now confirmed dead and nearly 10 presumed dead. The fire is Japan’s deadliest since 2001.
