Driver, 21, dies in Old Highway 63 crash

A 21-year-old driver is dead after a crash early Sunday on Old Highway 63.

Columbia Police say Perri Jones lost control of the car at high speeds on the road between Stadium and Grindstone at 1:54 a.m. Jones was ejected as the car rolled down an embankment. A passenger, 19-year-old Destiny Hardin, went to the hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators say it’s not clear yet whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
