Driver, 17, dies after eastern Boone County crash

A 17-year-old dies in a Boone County crash.

Authorities say a car was going too fast on Purdy Lane northwest of Millersburg at about midnight Monday. It went off the gravel road, flipped, and crashed into a fence and tree.

Driver Ethan Simkins of Columbia is dead. An 18-year-old male passenger, also from Columbia, walked away.
