Report: Drunk driving deaths down 41 percent in Missouri

Missouri drunk driving deaths have dropped by 41% since 2000. Adam Johnson with online insurance marketplace QuoteWizard tells Missourinet that gives Missouri the eighth-best improvement by percentage in the nation.

“From the year 2000 to 2017, technology has made major advances,” Johnson says. “That includes apps like Lyft and Uber. When folks head out of the bar intoxicated they are able to use quick, easy, cheap ride-sharing services.

In 2017, 198 people died in Missouri crashes involving alcohol or drugs.
