One of the two men shot in Sunday night’s East Columbia double shooting has died.
43-year-old Myron Woods of Kansas City died from his wounds Wednesday morning after Michael Stapleton allegedly shot him in a parking lot on Clark Lane near the Lake of the Woods exit off I-70.
A 40-year-old man, also from Kansas City, was allegedly shot by Stapleton too. He was released from a Columbia hospital after being treated for a gunshot wound.
The 34-year-old Stapleton is a convicted felon. Boone County authorities are now charging him with second-degree murder after Woods’ death.
