A weekend boating crash at the Lake of the Ozarks has killed a Byrnes Mill man.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report says the boating crash happened Saturday evening at the 69 mile mark of the main channel, when the operator “failed to keep a proper look-out and the vessel struck a rock bluff.”

The passenger who was killed is identified as 58-year-old Thomas McKown of Byrnes Mill, which is in eastern Missouri’s Jefferson County. Driver Roy Jackson of Edwards and two others in the boat sustained moderate injuries, according to the Patrol’s report.
