Eldon kidnapping suspect shot by trooper

An Eldon man shot by police is now facing criminal charges.

The Highway Patrol says David Wallace held a couple people hostage in an Eldon home on Leeds Avenue on Wednesday morning. Officers say he threw knives at them when they went up to the home. A trooper shot him. No one else was hurt.

Wallace, 34, is in the hospital at last check, and has a $500,000 bond.
