Election results: Boone Co. roads tax passes

The big funding source for Boone County roads is not going anywhere. The half-cent sales tax was renewed by a huge margin (86 percent “yes”) again Tuesday.

But voters in the Centralia and North Callaway districts turned down property tax increases for school improvements. Centralia voters were about 53 percent in the “no” camp.

Voters in Camden County turned thumbs down on a tax levy increase for the Sunrise Beach Fire Department. Voters in Osage County came out overwhelmingly in favor of a capital improvements sales tax. And voters in Russellville almost unanimously approved a local sales tax question.
