Elective surgeries are cancelled at Capital Region Medical Center and SSM Health Care in Jefferson City.

ABC 17 reports the decision was made to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

The moves take effect on Monday.

The decision applies to the organization’s hospitals in Jefferson City and in Mexico Missouri.
