MoDOT says the work is aimed at improving the interchange’s east side. That includes heavy congestion with the vehicles and trucks turning onto Lemone Industrial drive. It also includes increasing accessibility for pedestrians and bicyclists and also widening and realigning Grindstone Parkway/New Haven road east of Highway 63. Many motorists say that the traffic is so heavy on weekday afternoons that they have a difficult time turning right onto Grindstone Parkway from Lemone Industrial.

Work is already underway, and you’ll start seeing road work with traffic impacts in mid-March. The project is expected to be done in July 2026. MoDOT has awarded the $11-million project to Columbia-based Emery Sapp and Sons.
