The family of a Columbia man who died in a shooting last week is suing Waffle House, and the security guard who shot him.
Our news partner ABC17 reports the plaintiffs in the wrongful death suit are Anthony Warren’s children and their mother.
Warren was shot early on New Year’s Day at the Waffle House on Vandiver.
A security guard told police he was afraid for his safety when he was breaking up a fight there involving a gun. Warren wasn’t part of that fight, but the security guard shot and killed him.
The man who pulled a gun during the fight, Matthew McMillan, is charged with murder and wanted by police.
