(AUDIO) Fayette house, former jail that drew national attention is sold

The Fayette house that got national attention because of its jail cells is off the market.

Jeff Radel with House of Brokers told Wake Up Columbia a Nashville man bought the house on East Morrison Street on Thursday night.

The house was built in 1875, and used to be the Howard County Sheriff’s house and jail. The last inmates were there in 2004. It has two bedrooms, 1.5 baths…and nine jail cells.

Radel says the listing has more than one million views on Zillow after it went viral. He adds he does not expect the man who bought it to live there, but maybe turn it into some sort of business venture.
