Fentanyl bill passes Missouri House

A bill ramping up the penalties for dealing the powerful drug fentanyl is moving through the state legislature.

Rep. Nick Schroer says fentanyl is not included in Missouri drug trafficking statutes right now.

“This is an issue that impacts everybody in the state and basically every state in the nation.”

The bill would make dealing or even having fentanyl a felony. It also toughens penalties on date rape drugs. The measure has passed the House. Next it needs to clear the state Senate.
