Fiery crash shuts down I-70 near Boonville

Two people have to go to the hospital after a fiery crash shuts down I-70 near Boonville.

The Highway Patrol says the wreck happened at about 11 p.m. Thursday at mile marker 111.

A semi driven by 38-year-old Michael McCoy of Richmond, Missouri was stopped behind a stranded car blocking the eastbound driving lane. A semi driven by 53-year-old Jesse Leach of Springfield crashed in from behind.

Both semis flipped and caught fire. They burned for hours. The delays lasted even longer.

Leach has moderate injuries. McCoy has minor injuries. They both went to the hospital.
