We’ll learn final details Friday morning about plans for next week’s high-profile murder trial in Columbia.

36-year-old Joseph Elledge is charged with first degree murder for the October 2019 death of his wife, Menggi Ji. Her remains were found earlier this year at Rock Bridge state park, south of Columbia.

Boone County Circuit Judge Brouck Jacobs has scheduled a hearing for 9 this morning, and jury selection begins Monday at the Boone County Courthouse.

County prosecutor Dan Knight has subpoenaed 180 witnesses to testify at the trial, which could take three weeks.

200 potential jurors will be called for Elledge’s trial, with 100 coming in on Monday. Another 100 will be brought in on Tuesday, if needed.
