Fire damages The Links apartments

Multiple apartment units suffered fire, smoke and water damage after fire broke out Monday morning at The Links apartment complex on Clark Lane in northeast Columbia. Firefighters arrived on the scene about 8:25 a.m. to flames and heavy smoke but were able to control the fire quickly, limiting most of the damage to one unit. Crews remained on the scene for about two hours. No injuries were reported. Fire marshals are investigating the cause of the fire.
