Fire destroys a home west of Columbia.
It started Tuesday morning in the Midway area on Boothe Lane near Highway 40.
Investigators say it began near the power distribution panel, but it’s not clear yet what caused the fire. No one was living there.
The small home is a total loss, with a damage estimate of $40,000.
