First reading of Glascock’s contract Monday

The city of Columbia has released details of new city manager John Glascock’s contract.

Glascock will make $180,000 a year, more than the annual salary of the last permanent city manager, Mike Matthes. Other benefits include the same vehicle allowance granted to other department heads, for $285 a month.

The first reading on Glascock’s contract is scheduled for Monday night’s city council meeting. It will probably become official during the meeting Aug. 19.

The mayor announced Glascock would be Columbia’s next permanent city manager in July. Listen to the Wake Up Columbia interview with Glascock here.
