Callaway County Rep. Travis Fitzwater says he supports a bill blocking Grain Belt from using eminent domain for the project.
“The idea that the [Public Service Commission] would give approval for an out-of-state company, that is invested in largely by a Chicago billionaire and a Quebec company, to take farmland in Missouri is a real real problem.”
Farmers in Chariton, Randolph, and Monroe counties could see their land used for the lines if the Missouri House bill does not become law.
