Five illegal immigrants accused of trafficking 14-year-old girl

crime 1

Five men believed to be illegal immigrants were captured in Macon County last week with a 14-year-old runaway from Indiana that police say they were trafficking to California. The men are from Mexico and Honduras. They were charged and are in jail. According to court records, the authorities were able to track the girls’ cell phone. It was allegedly first pinged on westbound Highway 36 near Hannibal. Shelbina police later spotted a suspicious vehicle with Texas plates passing through their town. The vehicle was pinged again as it was traveling through Clarance, and minutes later Highway patrol pulled the Dodge Durango over, discovered the girl in the vehicle, and made the arrests.
