Five Mizzou players picked in NFL Draft; Chiefs take Bolton

(KTGR) The Kansas City Chiefs stayed close to home with their first pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Kansas City selected Missouri linebacker Nick Bolton with the 58th overall selection. It was the Chiefs’ first pick in the event after trading their first-rounder to Baltimore for Orlando Brown, Jr. Bolton was a two-time All-SEC selection at MU, and one of the conference’s top tacklers.

Here are the Chiefs’ other choices:

Creed Humphrey C, Oklahoma
Joshua Kaindoh, DE, Florida State
Noah Gray, TE, Duke
Cornell Powell, WR, Clemson
Trey Smith, G, Tennessee

Along with Bolton, four other Mizzou Football players were taken in the 2021 Draft… the most for the Tigers since 2015.

S Tyree Gillespie – Las Vegas Raiders, 143rd overall
OL Larry Borom – Chicago Bears, 151st overall
S Joshuah Bledsoe – New England Patriots, 188th overall
RB Larry Rountree III – Los Angeles Chargers, 198th overall.

This is the 17th straight season Missouri has had at least one player selected in the NFL Draft.
