Flight to COU diverted back to Dallas

An American Airlines flight to Columbia from Dallas was diverted back to Texas Tuesday after a de-icing truck malfunctioned at Columbia Regional Airport. Flight 5011 left Dallas Fort Worth International Airport at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday and was scheduled to arrive in Columbia at 6:15. It was redirected during the flight and landed back in Dallas at 6:38 p.m. Columbia airport manager Mike Parks told KOMU there was a mechanical issue with de-icing equipment in Columbia.
