Flooding, water rescues during Jefferson City storms

Jefferson City firefighters pull people from cars who tried to drive through flooded streets.

They say they responded to nine separate flooded vehicles for rescues on Sunday.

Severe storms brought heavy rain and flash flooding at the capital, knocking down trees and power lines. Some apartments flooded on and around East McCarty, leaving residents having to find somewhere else to stay. Highway 50 even closed for a while because of high water.

More rain was in the forecast on Monday.
