Forecasters expect stormy week

The National Weather Service says to expect several rounds of thunderstorms this week.

Meteorologist Gary Schmocker says the biggest severe weather potential is Tuesday afternoon and evening. That’s the highest risk for damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes.

“It is that time of the year. Usually late April into early May can be a fairly active pattern. We are definitely in the severe weather season.”

The forecast says the stormy weather will continue in mid-Missouri through Thursday. We’ve got a good chance for flooding too, with 3-4 inches of rain expected this week.
