Former chief Burton pleads to misdemeanor charge

Former Columbia police chief Ken Burton pleaded guilty on Friday morning to driving with excessive blood alcohol content.

That’s what Burton’s attorney tells ABC 17.

Burton just gets the misdemeanor after more serious charges were dropped. Burton was pulled over in May in town on suspicion of DWI. He resigned as Columbia police chief in Dec. 2018.
