Dr. Yearwood announced in November that he was retiring from CPS. The school district paid him for his regular salary through December 31 and Dr. Yearwood then received a lump sum payment of $667,000 in January. 939 the Eagle’s Mike Murphy reported at that time that in exchange for the payment, Dr. Yearwood agreed to make no further public statements about his departure from CPS.
