The Christina school district, which is 12 miles from Wilmington, has announced that former CPS superintendent Dr. Brian Yearwood is a finalist and will be in Delaware Thursday evening for a superintendent search public forum.

Dr. Yearwood announced in November that he was retiring from CPS. The district paid him for his regular salary through December 31 and Dr. Yearwood then received a lump sum payment of $667,000 in January. 939 the Eagle’s Mike Murphy, who publishes Comobuz, reported at that time that in exchange for the payment, Dr. Yearwood agreed to make no further public statements about his departure from CPS.
