Former state economist talks federal coronavirus relief

Are your elected leaders dividing up federal coronavirus relief money as intended? Former Missouri chief economist Tom Kruckmeyer says making the coming vaccines more available could be a good way to use those funds.

“The news that came out recently about Pfizer’s vaccine needing these deep freezers is something fairly new, and I would hope if that would be the best use of the money they would have the flexibility to do this.”

Kruckmeyer says the state budget is actually in pretty good shape even with the pandemic. He says it’s only down about 2% from spring.
