Fulton’s police chief to retire in August; Chief Ladwig has been in law enforcement for 26 years

The police chief in mid-Missouri’s Fulton will retire on August 3.

The city of Fulton announced Chief Bill Ladwig’s retirement late Friday afternoon, saying his leadership has had a lasting impact on the police department and the residents they serve. Mr. Ladwig has been in law enforcement for 26 years and joined the Fulton Police Department in 2000. He has served as chief since 2021, focusing on public safety, professionalism and community engagement.

Mr. Ladwig is also a former radio broadcaster.
