Glascock presents proposed city of Columbia budget

Some city employees could see pay raises.

Columbia’s interim city manager, John Glascock, said that his proposed fiscal 2020 budget will include pay raises but the stagnant sales tax collections continue to hurt city finances.

Glascock blamed online shopping for the decline in local sales tax. And provided evidence as to why the city needs to pay their employees better.

The city council will have a budget work session at the end of August.
