Gov.-elect taps Kurt Schaefer for DNR post

Former state senator Kurt Schaefer of Columbia is Gov.-Elect Mike Kehoe’s choice to lead the state’s Department of Natural Resources. Kehoe’s office announced the choice Thursday. Schaefer would assume the position Jan. 13 and wait to be confirmed by the Missouri Senate. Schaefer has formerly served as the DNR’s general counsel and deputy director.
