Gov. Parson addresses hospital staffing, special session

Missouri’s recently re-elected governor says his team is still working with hospitals as COVID-19 continues to spread within the state.

Gov. Mike Parson said Thursday they are not only monitoring hospital capacity, but also staffing.

“We have waived over 600 regulations including many to help the hospitals and healthcare providers with staffing needs and other COVID-19 challenges,” said Parson.

Missouri has 46 percent of its hospital beds still available.

Parson also addressed the second special legislative session, which started Thursday. He is asking lawmakers to let his administration spending $1.2 billion in federal coronavirus relief.
