Gov. Parson extends stay-at-home order through May 3

Governor Parson orders Missourians to stay home a little longer.

Parson said Thursday the statewide stay-at-home order will be extended through Sunday, May 3. It was originally set to expire Apr. 24.

“We are seeing very early signs in the data that lead us to be cautiously optimistic that we are beginning to slow the course of the infection and see improvements across Missouri,” said Parson.

The state confirmed 5,283 total cases of the virus as of Friday afternoon. 165 people have died from COVID-19 statewide.

Boone County added another positive case Thursday, 87 total. 76 have recovered. Cole County was at 41 positives as of early Friday, with 32 recovered. Callaway County is still at 19 cases and 15 recovered. One death has been reported in each of those counties.

Moniteau County saw the biggest percentage jump in mid-Missouri, going from six positives for the virus to 15 on Wednesday.
