Gov. Parson: No reason for concern as coronavirus positives rise

Gov. Mike Parson said Tuesday he’s not worried about rising numbers of confirmed coronavirus cases in Missouri.

“We are not overwhelmed, we are not currently experiencing a second wave, and we have no intentions of closing Missouri back down at this point in time,” said Parson. “As always, we monitor these numbers on a daily basis and we remain confident that Missouri is on the road to recovery.”

Parson also said people should still keep up with social distancing and other safe health practices.

Health officials reported 434 new statewide coronavirus cases, breaking the single-day record for the third time in four days.

In local counties on Tuesday, Boone County added 10 new positives, Callaway and Cole counties reported two new cases, while Audrain County added one.
