Gov. Parson pushing flood relief this week

(Missourinet) Governor Mike Parson will spend part of this week seeking flood relief help from the federal government.

The governor says he plans to ask for federal assistance, based on what he has learned about flood damage in 16 Missouri counties. He is waiting on the official tally on the damages to make his report.

Friday, the governor will join Nebraska governor Pete Ricketts and Iowa governor Kim Reynolds for a follow-up meeting with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Missouri River flood management. The three governors met with Corps officials earlier this month.
