Governor forms school safety task force

(Missourinet) Missouri now has a task force working on a statewide plan for school safety. Governor Parson signed the executive order creating the panel.

“I expect school to be safe. Places from a time students step onto a bus in the morning, until they step off in the afternoon. I know there are people in the world who seek to prey on those who are often unable to protect themselves.”

The task force will probably go beyond issues like school shootings, looking at topics like mental health services. Expect recommendations by the end of July.
