Stephens College in Columbia is the nation’s second oldest women’s college. Their graduate commencement is Friday at 5 pm inside Lela Raney Wood hall on the Stephens campus. Saturday’s undergraduate commencement ceremony is at 1 pm at the Missouri Theatre downtown. Stephens College spokeswoman Sarah Salmons tells 939 the Eagle that 24 graduate students graduate today, and that there are 83 undergrad students who graduate Saturday.

One of the things that retiring Stephens College president Lynch is most proud of is the millions of dollars that have been poured into campus improvements in recent years. That includes window work and roof and air conditioning work. President Lynch has told 939 the Eagle that Stephens has invested more than $13-million in campus improvements in the past three years.
