Grand jury indicts Boonville casino robbery suspects; one suspect remains on the run

A grand jury in mid-Missouri’s Cooper County has indicted the two suspects who were allegedly involved in the late March armed robbery of Boonville’s Isle of Capri casino.

The indictment essentially replaces earlier charges.

Isle of Capri employee 21-year-old Benjamin Michael-Dass Charles of Columbia has been indicted for first degree robbery, armed criminal action and tampering with evidence. 20-year-old Hollis Vanleer of Illinois, who is still on the run, has been indicted for first degree robbery, armed criminal action and first degree assault.

The $1.3 million that was taken during the robbery is still missing. Anyone with information on Vanleer is urged to call the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
