Missouri’s governor, state Department of Economic Development (DED) director Michelle Hataway and numerous other dignitaries will be in Columbia for Wednesday morning’s grand opening of EquipmentShare’s new technology and development center.
It’s all part of the company’s $100-million new headquarters that’s being built near I-70’s Lake of the Woods exit. EquipmentShare has about 500 employees, according to recent numbers from Columbia Regional Economic Development Incorporated (REDI).
Then-Governor Mike Parson traveled to Columbia in 2022 to announce that EquipmentShare would be building its $100-million new headquarters in Columbia. That is expected to bring about five hundred new jobs to Columbia. The city of Columbia beat out Alabama, Louisiana and other states in landing the massive project.
EquipmentShare is building its 35-acre corporate headquarters by the former Ashley furniture building near I-70’s Lake of the Woods exit.
Columbia Mayor Barbara Buffaloe and Boone County commissioners will also be attending this morning’s ceremony.
