Hallsville looks to sell city’s sewer system

Results are in across Mid-Missouri after some local elections took place.

It looks like Hallsville will be selling the city’s sewer system. Residents voted mostly in favor of the sale according to the Boone County Clerk’s website. The city has more than 1.3 million dollars in debt from the system after an improvement project. Hallsville has already started accepting proposals for a new plan for the sewer system.

There will not be an Osage Beach Soccer Complex any time soon, at least not one funded by lodging tax dollars. The issue was controversial because a lot of business owners supported the tax increase while others who owned small vacation rentals opposed it.
